Conversations on Compassion and The Work with Byron Katie

19 October 2017
Stanford, California

Byron Katie gives you the how of enlightenment. —Eckhart Tolle

Step into an evening of radical self-inquiry with Byron Katie, as she launches her new book, A Mind at Home with Itself. The event will begin with a conversation with The Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education's (CCARE’s) founder and director, Dr. James Doty, who will ask Katie about her life’s work and how compassion has played a role. Their conversation will be followed by The Work with Katie, and will end with a book signing. The book combines the brilliant clarity of the Diamond Sutra with the practical power of The Work, a tool so sharp that it can cut through any blindness or delusion of the mind and lead you to the freedom that is your birthright.

CCARE investigates methods for cultivating compassion and promoting altruism within individuals and society through rigorous research, scientific collaborations, and academic conferences. In addition, CCARE provides a compassion cultivation program and teacher training as well as educational public events and programs.

When the mind understands its true nature, it becomes an unceasing flow of delight. –Byron Katie, from A Mind at Home with Itself
