Nowadays if I feel angry, fearful, hurt, or depressed, I recognize that my thinking is off and I’m being called to do The Work. Respecting my feelings instead of denying and covering them up has become really important to me. I trust my emotions to help me identify the source of my suffering, or in other words, my stressful beliefs. And once the thoughts have been found I know it’s possible to bring myself back to peace through self inquiry.

When I discovered The Work in 2007, I had just moved from Scotland to the USA with my husband and four year old daughter. While adjusting to life in a new country with a new job, I was looking forward to a visit from my best friend from childhood. Then came the news that she was dying of cancer, and my war with reality really got going, i.e. “this shouldn’t be happening!” Thankfully The Work helped me see the futility of this kind of thinking, and I got on a plane to Scotland to offer comfort to my dear friend. What a gift that turned out to be!

Scotland is where I grew up and trained to be a Speech and Language Therapist. I worked in this profession for over 20 years, supporting adults and children’s communication skills. I specialized in stammering and autism.

I have practiced yoga and meditation since college and this has helped me develop an ability to get still and be present with myself. Now I use these skills in my practice with The Work.

After facilitating hundreds of people in over 30 countries, I’ve come to appreciate the power of the Work in taking you places in your mind that you would never have imagined going, and giving you a whole new perception of a situation. All it takes is an open mind and a willingness to see something different from what you already know. This has been my personal experience, and the experience that my clients have reported.

I would love to support you to do The Work on any situation that is troubling you. I give one-to-one sessions in person or via phone or Skype, and do workshops, too. Looking forward to connecting with you.
