As a Certified Facilitator, Yoga Therapist, Writer, & Cancer Thriver, my mission is to help clients find freedom with everything life brings. Through Yoga & The Work, I love exploring the relationship between the mind & body—how our mental BS (belief systems) affect our emotions, physical sensations, and overall health and wellbeing. I offer private coaching sessions (phone, online, or in-person), online class series, workshops, trainings, and retreats.
The Work, a practice that truly is Yoga for the Mind, found me in 2009 and at first, I didn’t think it was possible for something SO darn simple to be the answer to all of my problems! So I started to test it out over and over again—in all of my relationship issues, health challenges, self-criticism, career struggles, parenting, fears about the future, judgments about food, sex, corporations, God, and even small things like traffic, lawnmowers, and ATM machines. Finally, all of my fear, frustration, anxiety, sadness, and grief had a home. A safe place to be held, listened to, and lovingly investigated.
What I realized is that it’s never the person or situation that brings me stress—it’s what I’m believing about them that creates my pain in the moment. As I cleared my mind of the stressful BS, relationships that felt like rollercoasters became more grounded and connected. I’d find myself laughing in situations that use to send me into a crazy lady tantrum. I became calmer, curious, and more comfortable in my own skin. And when life threw me curveballs, my mind became re-programmed to see the goodness of reality.
Just after becoming a Certified Facilitator in 2015, life gave me a sweet surprise when I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at the age of 34. My background provided the perfect training and inner support system to meet cancer with an open mind, peace, and humor. Cancer became a true gift and my greatest teacher. It has taught me how to be present, slow down, deeply listen, ask for support, let go, and truly connect with myself and others. Becoming “free” from cancer has taken on a whole new meaning. It has inspired my career to take a new direction into supporting others with health challenges and I am working on my first book baby: My Guru, Cancer: How I dropped the fight and found true freedom from the C-Word.
Just like yoga, inquiry is an ongoing practice that stretches, opens, strengthens, and grows me in ways I never thought possible. Do I still sometimes experience stress? Yes! The difference is that now I know what to do with it.
When the mind is open, inner peace is available to us in any moment. More than ever, I am inspired to share my experience and these healing tools with anyone who is ready to reconnect with their natural state of peace, joy, and clarity. Let the inner adventure begin : )
Just keep coming home to yourself. You are the one you’ve been waiting for.
