I first discovered The Work in 2005, and then in 2017, when I was experiencing many frustrations in the workplace, it called me back again, and I started doing The Work on my stressful thoughts. For years, I had been immersed in ‘Satsang’ with excellent teachers (and experienced the states of emptiness and simplicity of being). Still, the mind started to attack fiercely from every angle. Many of my stressful thoughts were about my work in the world and how it should look different.

The Work was immensely helpful in grounding me in reality and meeting the challenges of everyday life with humility and openness.

Since doing The Work regularly, I have noticed a willingness to meet all of life head-on and to embrace the thoughts that previously scared or terrorized me. Doing The Work is like living life without fear. Joy, peace, and unconditional love naturally become available, not as an idea or pretty concept but as a daily expression. As Katie says, reality is always kind, and the Universe is friendly. I am immensely grateful for how this life unfolds, and I see the gifts in everything now.
