Since 1999 The Work has been my companion. When I first met Katie and The Work, I had already been a student of meditation and was a professional engineer and researcher. Yet I still struggled to clear myself of confusions and to realize what I imagined as the ultimate truth. The Work appeared as the missing piece in my approach to meditation and radically changed my stressful attitudes of striving and renunciation and resulting disappointments with myself. Also, The Work gave me a powerful new way to deal with my reactions to people. I took The School for The Work in 2000 and staffed it several times soon after to give myself the best understanding of The Work I could get at the time.
I don’t know how I could give an adequate assessment of my experience with The Work since I met Katie and The Work. So many problematic areas regarding jobs, ambitions, family, criticism, shame, sex, self-realization, relationships, aging, legacy, and more have come to the fore and been met. One never knows when an issue will arise for the very first time or re-arise yet again, but, just the same, the effect of The Work has been astonishing. My life is so much lighter.
The Work is a way that I can pursue in complete honesty. There are no prescribed ideas to have faith in or to hope to realize. The resulting experience, that I like to think of as Loving What Is, is a natural, honest path that can be walked without pretension. It is a joy to share self-inquiry in workshops and private sessions. I’d be happy to do The Work with you. Please feel free to contact me. The first session is free and a sliding scale applies.
